Aspect has been named a highly commended brand in the Best Income Protection category at the 2024 Finder Awards.

The awards are held by Australian comparison site Finder every year. They celebrate Australia’s best companies, ranging from energy to insurance.

Aspect stood out because it comes with a $42,000 per week limit which is substantially more than all the other policies Finder analysed. It can also cover up to 85% of your income. This is one of the highest levels on the market.

The research that goes into the awards

Finder Income Protection Insurance Awards are based on over 170 quotes from 11 different  providers in Australia.

To get a fair average price estimate, Finder got quotes for multiple personas differing in age, gender, occupation and smoking status. These are some of the main factors that impact how much you pay in premiums.

In our research, Aspect was one of the cheapest policies on average for both white and blue collar workers.

The final scores were weighted to include a combination of price and benefits. Features included in the final score were monthly benefits, benefit period, percentage of income covered and waiting periods.

Why Aspect earned an award

Aspect had the largest maximum benefit limit on the market. It can cover up to $42,000 per week. The second highest is $30,000 per month.

You can also get covered for up to 85% of your income. Most insurers cover between 70% and 75%.

It also comes with more waiting period options than other insurers. You get a choice of 14, 30, 60 or 90 days.

Similarly, it comes with flexible benefit period options. You can typically choose between 1, 2 and 5 years or to age 65.
